Pepo Salazar: Illcons

PEPO SALAZAR trabaja desde 1990 fundamentalmente como artista plástico con trabajos de Instalación, escultura, video, videoperformance y música, y ha exhibido su obra por todo el mundo (New York, París, Venecia, Berlin, Singapur, Budapest, Bélgica, Amsterdam, Bilbao…) en una larga lista de centros de arte de prestigio que sencillamente quita el hipo.
ILLCONS es su segundo artefacto sonoro. Canciones que circulan entre el ambient hiper saturado y distorsionado, composiciones minimalistas que van auto alimentándose, y que define, en un juego de palabras irónico, como Hardcore-death-experimental-ambient. Que en su cabeza rondan las ideas de Zappa, Branca o compositores como Goreki, o que sus abanico de influencias puede ir de Eric Satie a Napalm Death, podrían servirnos de guía para entender que podemos encontrar en este disco, pero no es más que palabrería para encontrar la forma de definir una cabeza hiperactiva que lleva rozando el límite de sus posibilidades desde hace mucho tiempo en todo tipo de manifestaciones artísticas.

El mexicano Rebolledo ya tiene listo su primer LP:  Super Vato y lo editan sus buenos amigos Matias Aguayo y Gary Pimiento en su sello Cómeme. Desparrame: Espanish Boogie Vols. 1 & 2

Se llama “Boogie” al disco-funk electrónico de principios de los ochenta asociado a sellos de Nueva York como Prelude, West End, Sam, Salsoul y Radar. En España, parece inevitable identificar aquella época con la Movida Madrileña, la new wave y el synth-pop. La música disco había muerto con la moda y por eso puede sonar absurdo hablar de “boogie español”; sin embargo este recopilatorio es la prueba de que no sólo el boogie sino también el electro-funk y el freestyle tuvieron su influencia en estilos tan distintos como el pop, el rock, el flamenco, la copla o la música electrónica.  Desde Desparrame, el señor K**O ha hecho un magnífico trabajo de rastreo en mercadillos para obtener estos documentos sin igual, malditos a más no poder.

Esta mañana es una de esas positivista en la que me siento altamente optimista. Una de esas mañanas frías pero soleadas que nos trae el otoño, en las que me gustaría no tener nada que hacer para abandonarme a la ensoñación y pensar únicamente en las lindezas del amor.

Por eso os traigo una pieza musical a la altura de la circunstancia:

Sí, el actor mexicano.

Pertenece a la película Rudo y Cursi.
El filme en si no es que valga mucho. Entretenida y con cierto interés sociológico pero… ya.
Eso sí, el exitazo que se casca el Gael vale un Potosí. Y el vídeo es im-pa-ga-ble.
Grupero a todo dar.

La banda sonora incluye además alguna otra perla.
Pero no adelantemos acontecimientos que quedan muchos post por llegar.

Para los días difíciles

La cosa es que tod*s nos encontramos con un día de esos en los que mejor no haberse levantado.

Cuestión de género… masculino

Recojo la invitación de Cubo para participar en este contenedor musical.
A modo de “no voy a decir que lo dije pero… ya os lo dije”, comentar que dejaré por aquí exhabruptos, reflexiones anodinas, sinsentidos y curiosidades varias sacadas de lo más profundo de mis discos duros. Mi más que incipiente “sindrome de diógenes digital” ha alimentado año tras año un desorganizado archivo digital que a partir de ahora irá viendo la luz en Silum Soundz.
Espero que Cubo no se arrepienta (veremos).

Para empezar quería invitaros a una de esas reflexiones sin fin sobre género. Sobre género masculino.
